Recently, the two local standards "Lightning Protection Device Testing Service Specification" and "Code for Work on Meteorological Disaster Investigation" that drafted by the Tianjin Meteorological Bureau officially issued and implemented on April 16th. The implementation of standards is of great significance for strengthening lightning disaster prevention and protecting people's lives and property.

The "Lightning Protection Device Testing Service Specification" stipulates the terms and definitions, quality requirements, safety requirements and equipment requirements for lightning protection device testing, and is applicable to the lightning protection device testing business in Tianjin. The standard implements the provisions of the “General Principles for Quality Assessment of Inspection of Lightning Protection System”. The quality assessment basis for lightning protection testing institutions shall include the provisions of “testing business norms or testing requirements specified by the provincial (autonomous region, municipality) meteorological authority”. And the standard also provides an important technical support means for strengthening the construction of lightning protection supervision system, the implementation of the responsibility of the main body of lightning protection supervision, ensuring the quality and safety of inspection operations, and promoting the healthy development of the lightning protection and disaster reduction service market.

The "Code for Work on Meteorological Disaster Investigation" stipulates the principles, organization, procedures, contents and methods, data processing and analysis and investigation reports of meteorological disaster investigation work, and is applicable to the investigation of meteorological disasters in Tianjin. The implementation of this standard is conducive to filling the gaps in meteorological disaster investigation standards and norms, and is conducive to the implement "standard management, system first" work guidelines, to provide accurate, timely and standardized operation for meteorological disaster investigation work.
